Over the last ten years Dominic Cloud has directed the comprehensive redevelopment of St. Albans from his position as City Manager. Under his tenure the City has demonstrated the power of forming public / private partnerships to advance economic development projects and create a bold new direction for their downtown. Their efforts have brought a new office building and a Hampton Inn to town. Current initiatives include a $20 million mixed- use project with 60 units of mixed income housing and a new 25,000 square foot commercial building on Main Street. This approach has increased the City’s tax base by $80 million. | St. Albans has experienced dramatic downtown growth and revitalization through creative investment, and implentation of a 10-year vision. City Manager Dominic Cloud explains the steps his community took to 'drive their own destiny' and revive their downtown. |
